Renowned actress Laila Elwi paid tribute to the legendary Egyptian director Youssef Chahine on the occasion of his centenary.
She wrote on her Instagram account:
"All respect to a great director, not just in Egypt but across the Arab world. Even today, young people watch his films and learn from them, and his influence continues through his students even after his passing."
She added:
"It was a beautiful celebration with the great maestro Nader Abbasi and the distinguished director Ahmed El Bouhi. Thanks to the Ministry of Culture for their attention and appreciation."
