In a special seminar, actress Lucy revealed the challenges she faced while portraying her role in the series "Fahd El-Batal," which aired last Ramadan. She shared that she was initially confused when the character of "Faiza El-Shabah" was offered to her because it was a character full of contradictions. The character oscillates between being kind and evil, which made it difficult for her to determine the best approach for portraying it.
Lucy added that she decided to have a meeting with actor Ahmed El-Awady and director Mohamed Abdel Salam before filming started to discuss the character and its psychological dimensions. The goal of this meeting was to gain a deeper understanding of the character from all aspects, which helped her decide to present it in a way that highlighted its contradictions, adding depth to the plot.
Lucy also spoke about her fruitful collaboration with actor Ahmed El-Awady in "Fahd El-Batal," emphasizing that he is a talented artist with a large fan base. She said, "Ahmed El-Awady is not only capable of performing popular roles, but he also has the ability to portray a wide variety of artistic expressions due to his high talent." She added that El-Awady has the artistic capability to perform complex and diverse characters in his works. "God has blessed El-Awady with the love of the audience, and he deserves it because, before being an actor, he is a real person full of kindness and sincerity," she continued.
In the same context, Lucy discussed her own nature in work, mentioning that whenever she participates in any artistic project, she pours all her energy and emotions into it. She explained that this was the case in "Fahd El-Batal," which she considered one of the significant works that presented a different kind of drama and was well-received by the audience. However, like any artistic work, it wasn't without some criticisms, which she regards as part of the interaction with artistic works, as everyone has their own perspective on evaluating any piece.
Lucy also said that she always strives to portray the character as the director envisions it, imagining it according to their vision. She emphasized her intense passion for her work and her great love for it. She added that she enjoys showing the audience all her feelings through her characters in artistic works, which was achieved in "Fahd El-Batal," where she felt connected to the character and enjoyed portraying it.
Regarding the series "Lam Shamsiya," which also aired last Ramadan, Lucy shared her opinion on the work, praising it for addressing an important social issue. She said the series tackles the issue of child abuse, a subject that deserves to be discussed in artistic works as it reflects a crucial reality that everyone should pay attention to. She emphasized that art plays a significant role in raising awareness in society and shedding light on sensitive issues that need broad public attention.
Lucy added, "The role of art is also to raise social issues that touch people's lives and affect them." She expressed her hope for more artistic works to be produced that address similar issues, aiming to raise awareness in society, especially on matters that affect children.
She further explained that, personally, she ensures to raise her son with the educational messages conveyed through artistic works, and she had warned him about details like child abuse, based on what was discussed in "Lam Shamsiya." She stressed the importance of mothers educating their children properly and teaching them how to handle such issues, pointing out that the series played a significant role in spreading awareness among Egyptian families.
Finally, Lucy talked about what "Fahd El-Batal" contributed to the realm of social drama and its impact on the audience, considering that every artistic work should contribute to positive social change. She pointed out that the role of the artist is to deliver a message to the audience, and that the character she portrays is a tool to express this message in the best possible way.
