Magda Khairallah: Death Rumors Are the Harshest Psychological Threats to Artists
Art critic Dr. Magda Khairallah warned of the severe psychological impact of rumors on artists and their families, describing them as one of the cruelest forms of mental abuse that can affect both personal life and mental health ✨
In a phone interview on the program “Al-Kalima Al-Fasla”, art critic Dr. Magda Khairallah highlighted that rumors, especially those concerning death or serious illness, have become one of the most dangerous phenomena affecting artists and their families, causing severe psychological stress 💔
Khairallah pointed out that most rumors do not come from professional journalists but from ordinary people “who volunteer to harm others” without awareness, creating intense psychological pressure that can sometimes lead to complete mental distress 🧠
She referred to experiences of prominent artists like Ahmed Zaki and Farid Shawqi, who faced severe mental distress due to malicious rumors before their deaths. Some journalists, she said, seek false scoops by publishing news of artists’ deaths while they are alive, calling it “the peak of cruelty and inhumanity” ⚡
She added:
"The truth emerges once the artist addresses their audience personally, yet the psychological impact of these rumors persists, especially on the family" 💬
Khairallah emphasized that disease-related rumors, such as memory loss or Alzheimer’s, can be more devastating than death rumors, affecting both the dignity of the artist and the peace of their loved ones 🌟
She also stressed the importance of respecting privacy and not taking photos at weddings or funerals without invitation, describing it as a direct violation of privacy that may require legal action 🚫📸
Finally, she advised ignoring rumors and not succumbing to them, noting that artists today have multiple ways to connect with their audience and maintain media presence without resorting to controversy or fabricated stories 🎤✨
Singer Tamer Hosny performed one of the biggest winter concerts, delivering a stunning medley of his greatest hits and supporting fellow artist Sherine Abdel Wahab with her hit "Bous Ba’a," sparking massive audience excitement ✨
Actor Hassan El Raddad commented on the spread of old photos of artists allegedly attending national team matches, confirming that these posts are false and circulated by dishonest pages ✨
Mohammed Abdel Wahab, brother of singer Sherine Abdel Wahab, criticized media personality Basma Wahbe on Facebook, claiming that 90% of the news about Sherine is false, and shared exclusive insights into her personal life and close relationships ✨
The Theater Confrontation and Touring Project wrapped up its village tour in Assiut and Qena with the performance of "The Big Night," attracting over 30,000 spectators and receiving wide engagement from audiences of all ages ✨
