Director Mohamed Ali Nahdi confirmed that he accepted the screening of his latest film “Round 13” outside the official competition of the Carthage Film Days, prioritizing the Tunisian audience over competitive participation. The decision comes after the film’s remarkable success in international festivals. 🌍✨

Nahdi stated, “The film had a profound impact on audiences in Estonia during its world premiere, then won Best Performance at the Arab Cinema Horizons section of the Cairo International Film Festival, and most recently received the Best Film Award in Iran.” 🏆🎬

He added, “I adapted to the conditions of Carthage Film Days to ensure the film reaches its audience. After seven years of dedication—from concept to completion—this work resonates deeply with viewers wherever it is screened.”

The film explores a human drama centered on Kamel, a former professional boxer who leaves his career for the love of his wife Samia, drawing strength and purpose from her admiration and the eyes of their son Sabri. The story highlights themes of love, sacrifice, and personal transformation, making it a moving cinematic experience. ❤️🥊

Nahdi also expressed frustration that his next film project did not receive funding from Tunisian sponsors, while securing support from Doha, reflecting the challenges faced by independent filmmakers in the region. 💡🎥

“Round 13” is poised for theatrical release in Tunisia, aiming to reach audiences directly and ignite meaningful conversations about family, resilience, and passion for life. 🎬✨
