Mido clarifies: I did not intend to offend the Zamalek board
Mido clarifies that he did not intend to offend the Zamalek board and responds to the misinterpretation of his statements.

Ahmed Hossam Mido, a member of Zamalek's planning committee, clarified his position following the criticism he received over his recent comments, in which he discussed attempts by some board members to disrupt the committee’s work. Mido emphasized that his intention was to support the club’s progress and not to offend anyone.
Mido wrote on his personal account on X: "I confirm my respect and appreciation for the club's board of directors and the efforts made from the first day. I never intended to offend anyone, and what is being circulated about distorting my statements has no basis. Myself and all loyal Zamalek fans are in the same direction, working together to elevate the club's status and face the challenges we are going through." He added: "We are all in the same boat, and our goal is to achieve success for the club and advance it in every field."
Mido continued in his response: "There is no need to stir up strife or align with malicious rumors, and I urge everyone to avoid escalation. I believe the time has come for hard and continuous work for the club's benefit, away from any conflicts or attempts to cause confusion." Mido had previously spoken about the planning committee's work at Zamalek, explaining that the committee is working on a long-term strategy to develop the club’s football sector on a professional basis.
Mido explained that as part of this strategy, the committee is working on restructuring the entire sports sector, including appointing a sports director and a contracts manager. He confirmed that the committee had already conducted interviews with several candidates for these positions and that the best candidate would be chosen by the beginning of June. He pointed out that the new sports director would be responsible for determining the fate of players whose contracts are expiring, and decisions would be made based on a well-studied strategic plan aimed at improving the overall team performance.
Mido also mentioned that he is aware of attempts by some club officials to tarnish the image of the planning committee but chose not to name anyone in order to protect everyone’s reputation, although he confirmed that a specific person is working against the committee. He added, "We are not seeking personal confrontation with anyone, but if it becomes necessary in the future to reveal the facts, we will do so with full transparency and clarity before the great Zamalek fans."
Mido, who is currently a member of the planning committee, has stated on several occasions that the committee is working to establish strong foundations for the football sector's development, focusing on offering a professional administrative model. He also confirmed that the committee seeks to enhance the club's administrative and developmental aspects through scientific and well-thought-out strategies aimed at achieving long-term sustainable success. His latest remarks were a direct response to the criticisms he faced after mentioning attempts to hinder the committee's work, which sparked widespread controversy within the club, especially given the difficult circumstances the team is facing.
Mido concluded his comments by stating that the coming period requires everyone’s unity to achieve the club’s goals, emphasizing that all decisions will be based on the team and the club’s future interests. He added, "We will not stop working hard and sincerely for Zamalek, and everyone at the club must cooperate for the benefit of all."
