90% of Filming for "Asad" Completed… Mohamed Diab Prepares a Grand Historical Cinematic Project

The production team of the film "Asad," led by director Mohamed Diab, continues to make significant progress, having completed about 90% of the shooting so far. The film is considered one of the largest and most lavish cinematic projects anticipated in Egypt. It portrays a historical era starting from the 1800s onward, requiring meticulously designed sets, costumes, and props that authentically recreate the atmosphere of that period.
Filming took place across more than 15 diverse locations in Cairo and several Egyptian governorates, involving around 2,000 extras, highlighting the production’s vast scale and rich visual details. Despite the considerable progress, the official release date for the film has not yet been announced.

"Asad" features a star-studded cast led by Mohamed Ramadan, alongside Razan Gamal, Ali Qassem, Majid Al-Kadwani, Sudanese actress Islam Mubarak, as well as Ahmed Dash and Palestinian star Kamel Al-Basha. The screenplay was co-written by Sherine Diab, Mohamed Diab, and Khaled Diab.

The film’s crew includes notable cinema professionals such as cinematographer Ahmed Bashary, editor Ahmed Hafez, set designer Ahmed Faiz, and costume designer Reem Al-Adl, with a soundtrack composed by Hisham Nazih, all aiming to deliver a high-quality artistic production on every level.
