Actor Mohamed Emam addressed the discussion around the similarity between the title of his new series “El King” and the famous nickname of singer Mohamed Mounir, emphasizing respect for the original king and the series’ unique identity.
Actor Mohamed Emam responded to the recent comparisons between his upcoming series “El King” and the nickname of legendary singer Mohamed Mounir, saying:
"The real King Mohamed Mounir is in a league of his own. People call me 'King' because it fits the series title and I liked it"—underlining his respect for the original king.
As part of his preparations, Mohamed Emam arrived in Dubai after extensive travel across countries and continents to shoot the Ramadan series. He shared on his Facebook:
"Just arrived in Dubai, from country to country, continent to continent, and from one climate to another—lots of effort and hard work, all to bring you something amazing that you deserve, good morning or good evening depending on where you are."
The series “El King” stars Mohamed Emam, Hanan Motawa, and Mostafa Khater, written by Mohamed Salah El-Azb and directed by Sherine Adel, and is among the most anticipated Ramadan 2026 shows.
