Mohamed Ramadan: “I’m Number One When I Act or Sing”
Mohamed Ramadan sparked debate with his latest statements about his status in the arts, stating “I’m number one when I act or sing,” and expressing his dream of achieving global recognition while staying in Egypt.
Artist Mohamed Ramadan stirred controversy through his recent Instagram post, writing: "I’m number one when I sing, and I’m number one when I act," responding to ongoing discussions about the highest-paid and most-watched artists in the industry.
In radio interviews, Ramadan emphasized his dream of becoming the first Egyptian artist to create a shared cultural space between Egypt and the world, highlighting his desire to reach global audiences while remaining in his homeland, living among his family, and embracing the Nile’s heritage.
He also mentioned his work with Rima and Patron King, under the supervision of world-renowned Moroccan producer RedOne, one of the most influential music creators in Africa and globally, reflecting his ambition to reach international audiences.
Ramadan spoke about the influence of the late global star Omar Sharif on his career, describing him as his spiritual father and noting that much of his success is due to Sharif’s early support and confidence in him, as he was the first to predict Ramadan’s stardom and open the door for global aspirations.
Mohamed Ramadan concluded by emphasizing his aim to achieve a difficult balance: to stay in Egypt without living abroad, and to create works that demonstrate to the world that Egypt is present and its voice is heard, following the path of global stars like Omar Sharif while enjoying his success at home.
