Singer Mostafa Shawky has officially released his latest track, “Magareeh”, a song that carries his signature in both lyrics and composition, with Michael Gamal handling the arrangement and Maher Salah managing the mix and mastering. The result is a deeply emotional piece that blends poetic language with Shawky’s distinct soulful tone.
“Magareeh” (meaning The Wounded) explores the fragility of love and the pain of emotional distance, capturing the bittersweet essence of broken connections. The lyrics, filled with poetic melancholy, read like fragments of a heartbreak journal:
“Life’s whirlpool changes feelings,
hearts once filled with stories,
suddenly grow tired,
and endings begin to unfold.”
The refrain— “Magareeh, Magareeh… Ahl el mahabba Magareeh” —echoes like a lament for lovers everywhere, painting a portrait of pain and endurance.
This release follows the remarkable success of Shawky’s previous hit “Bo’bo’”, which drew praise for its originality and modern sound. Shawky described the experience by saying:
“The song had a fresh idea, and producer Richard El-Hag immediately loved it. We agreed to keep experimenting with new, diverse musical colors.”
He added that “Bo’bo’” continues a musical journey that began with “El Aqarib” and “Zay El Dahab”, marking his ongoing evolution as an artist who blends modern rhythm with traditional Egyptian influences.
Through “Magareeh,” Mostafa Shawky once again proves that he’s not just a singer but a storyteller — one who turns heartache into melody and keeps the spirit of love alive through art.
