Egyptian artist Nader Abou El Leif has revealed details of an unexpected school crisis involving his son after he discovered that the child had failed the second grade of primary school because of his absence rate.
The artist expressed his frustration over the way the situation was handled, particularly because his son is still at an early stage of his education.
In a statement to “Misr Connect,” Abou El Leif explained that his son had a second-round exam in mathematics and was required to attend school every day during the summer to make up for an absence period that had lasted around one or two months.
The artist confirmed that his son complied with the requirement and attended school during the specified period. However, he was later surprised to learn that the child had failed the entire academic year because of his absence rate.
Nader Abou El Leif expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision, questioning whether such a measure was appropriate for a child in the second grade of primary school, especially after the child complied with the requirement to attend school during the summer and make up for the missed period.
The incident comes as Abou El Leif continues to follow up on his son’s education, while concerns remain that such an experience could negatively affect a young child’s relationship with education at an early age.
