The National Egyptian Cinema Festival has officially announced its return after three years of suspension, with the last edition held in May 2022.

A press conference at the National Cinema Center announced the 25th edition will start in the second half of April, with Hisham Suleiman appointed as festival president.

Suleiman expressed his happiness for the festival’s return and emphasized cinema’s role in Egypt’s cultural identity.

The artistic committee includes prominent figures such as Laila Eloui, Amal Osman, Nivin El-Zohairy, Safi El-Din Mahmoud, Ahmed Shawky, Hussein Asser, Mariam Naoum, Masad Fouda, Hisham Abdel Khalek, and Omar Abdel Aziz.

The festival has historically supported Egyptian cinema, celebrated creators, and showcased outstanding cinematic experiences. The 25th edition is expected to revive the national cinematic movement.
