Her latest participation comes with “The Stories,” which was officially selected to represent Egypt at the 99th Academy Awards, scheduled to take place in 2027.

Nelly Karim returned to the Oscar race with “Happy Birthday,” which was selected to represent Egypt in the Best International Feature Film category for the 2026 awards.
With “The Stories” selected for 2027, Karim has now appeared in three Egyptian films chosen to represent the country in the international Oscar competition over the past four years.

“The Stories” was selected after taking part in several international film festivals.
The film won the Golden Tanit at the 59th edition of the Carthage Film Festival and also competed in the official competition of the fifth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival.
It also participated in the Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn, Estonia, adding to its international festival journey before being selected to represent Egypt at the Oscars.
