Nour Hesham Selim Reveals Life After Gender Transition in Portugal
Nour Hesham Selim, son of actor Hesham Selim, shared the first-hand story of his life in Portugal after transitioning from female to male, discussing personal and social challenges, while advocating for LGBTQ rights and commenting on the Sarah Hegazy case.
Nour Hesham Selim opened up in a personal Instagram story 📲✨ about his journey transitioning from Nora to Nour at the age of 18. He revealed that the decision was difficult, and initially, he felt lost and alone before finding self-acceptance in the mirror 💔🌈.
He stated:
"In the Arab world, a girl turning into a boy is accepted, but a boy turning into a girl faces harassment. I know many who suffered."
Nour highlighted the hardest moments after his transition:
"I lost my father, my love, and my friend. My ID still says female, and I live in Portugal because Egypt doesn't accept me" 🇵🇹💔.
He also defended LGBTQ rights and expressed his stance on activist Sarah Hegazy:
"Anyone who accepts me but not Sarah Hegazy is a hypocrite… This is your life and your religion, but don’t impose it on me or on Sarah" ✨✊.
In a heartfelt message, he added:
"I didn’t have a hormonal defect, this was a personal transition. Humanity is more important than anything. Those who reject me also reject the rights of others" 🌍💡.
