Nahed Roshdy was born on September 14, 1956, and graduated from the Acting Department of the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in 1982. She began her artistic career at an early stage, but her name became particularly prominent during the 1990s, when she appeared in several notable television productions.

Her work extended to radio productions, animated projects, and television fawazeer. Among them were the 2010 radio series «My Love Story», «The Five Adventurers», and «The Time Machine in the Future» in 2004.
She also participated in the 1985 fawazeer production «Alf Leila wa Leila», playing the character of the Bride of the Seas, «Sanhour».

Despite the many characters Nahed Roshdy portrayed throughout her career, the character of «Sonia» in the 1996 series «Lan A’eesh Fi Gilbab Aby» remains the role most strongly associated with her in the minds of Egyptian audiences.
The series starred Nahed Roshdy alongside Nour El-Sherif and Abla Kamel. Roshdy played the quiet daughter with a natural and understated performance that made the character especially memorable.
The popularity of the role became so strong that many viewers continued to refer to Nahed Roshdy by the character’s name, «Sonia».
In media interviews, Roshdy also shared several behind-the-scenes stories from the series. Among them was the wedding scene, where director Ahmed Tawfik wanted the celebration to feel as natural as possible. He reportedly encouraged the participants to act spontaneously and eat the food available on the set to make the scene look more realistic.

She was married to accountant Mohamed Saad, who was not part of the entertainment industry. He remained by her side and supported her during her illness.
The couple had two children, a daughter named Dina and a son named Ahmed. Roshdy generally preferred to keep her family life private and separate from the demands of fame and public attention.

Nahed Roshdy battled cancer for more than four years and underwent treatment before the disease returned.

In the early hours of Saturday, September 14, 2024, Nahed Roshdy passed away at the age of 68.
Her death carried an especially emotional coincidence, as she died on the same day as her birthday.
Her daughter Dina Saad announced the news of her passing. Funeral prayers were held after the afternoon prayer at Abdel Rahman El-Kawakibi Mosque in Agouza, after which she was laid to rest in the family cemetery in Salah Salem.
