The film “Yonan” continues to earn strong critical praise following its screenings, as renowned critic Mahmoud Abdel Shakour described it as one of the finest films of the year, highlighting Lebanese actor George Khabbaz’s performance as a true career-defining role.

According to the critic, the film stands out for its rich visual and intellectual depth, along with the refined direction of filmmaker Amir Fakhr El-Din, who delivered a deeply human cinematic experience. The story revolves around an Arab writer living in exile who travels to a remote island with the intention of ending his life.
