Ramy spoke about his father, legend Adel Imam: “The audience thinks my father is just a comedian delivering lines, but at home he is different. My father is a strict Egyptian man at home, and education was the most important thing; failing in school was not an option.”
He recalled the first time he was punished: “My father worked with me in the movie ‘El Mahfaza,’ which portrayed the economic openness of the 1970s. He played a pickpocket stealing wallets from buses. I got influenced and once took a wallet from a classmate’s jacket. The supervisor found out and my father was informed at home. That was the first time I was punished physically.”
