The Red Sea International Film Festival rolled out the red carpet for a dazzling global lineup, honoring Sir Michael Caine, Juliette Binoche, and director Rachid Bouchareb, in a night full of cinematic magic ✨
The fifth edition of the Red Sea Film Festival kicked off with a spectacular celebration, shining the spotlight on cinematic excellence. Sir Michael Caine was honored on stage, appearing in a wheelchair alongside Vin Diesel. Overwhelmed with emotion, Caine welcomed his daughters while holding back tears, reflecting on a career filled with iconic performances. 🏆
The festival also honored the internationally acclaimed Juliette Binoche and visionary director Rachid Bouchareb, highlighting the global recognition of talent and artistic contribution.
The red carpet was graced by stars from Egypt, the Arab world, and beyond, including Jessica Alba, Olga Kurylenko, Laila Eloui, Amy Samir Ghanem, Arwa Gouda and her husband, Hassan Reda, Nadine Labaki, Ana de Armas, Sean Baker, Riz Ahmed, and Dilan Çiçek Deniz.

The opening ceremony featured the premiere of the film Giant, starring Egyptian actor Amir El Masry, portraying the journey of Yemeni-British boxer Prince Naseem Hamed. The story follows his rise from the working-class streets of Sheffield to global boxing stardom under the guidance of coach Brendan Ingle. 🥊
Giant, directed and written by Rowan Athale, also stars Pierce Brosnan and is produced by Sylvester Stallone. Amir El Masry received widespread critical acclaim after his performance in In Camera at the 45th Cairo International Film Festival and subsequent premieres at Karlovy Vary and London Film Festivals.
The fifth edition of the festival continues until December 13 in Jeddah, under the theme: “In Love with Cinema” 🎥
The festival’s “Global Selections” program showcased the most celebrated films of 2025, including 9 Middle East and North Africa premieres, alongside two Egyptian films making their Saudi debut: The Settlement directed by Mohamed Rashad and My Father’s Scent directed by Mohamed Siam. Both films explore the depth and complexity of family relationships and fatherhood with compelling performances and emotional storytelling.
