🎬 Jury Announced for the 6th “48-Hour Film Challenge”
The Red Sea Film Foundation has announced the jury for the sixth edition of its 48-Hour Film Challenge, an initiative designed to give young talents the opportunity to experience the filmmaking process under a strict deadline.
The jury includes director and screenwriter Houda Benyamina, Saudi actor and producer Sohaib Quds, and Saudi actress Khaireya Abu Laban.
The jury will evaluate the short films created by the participating teams, assessing the projects produced as part of the challenge and the participants’ ability to complete their films within the required timeframe.
⏱️ 15 Teams Compete to Make a Film in 48 Hours
The sixth edition brings together 15 participating teams, each taking on the challenge of developing and producing a short film within just 48 hours.
The competition gives participants an opportunity to test their skills across several stages of filmmaking, from developing an idea and writing the screenplay to production, filming and completing the final project.
The strict deadline also makes time management, teamwork and quick decision-making important parts of the overall filmmaking experience.

The two winning teams will be announced during the official screening and awards ceremony scheduled for Thursday, September 17.
The event is expected to feature screenings of the films produced by the participating teams before the winners are revealed.
With 15 teams competing, the jury will have the task of evaluating the completed projects and selecting the two winning teams based on the quality of the films and their ability to execute their ideas within the challenge’s limited timeframe.

The 48-Hour Film Challenge is organized in collaboration with Alliance Française and the Consulate General of France in Jeddah, as part of the Red Sea Film Foundation’s year-round programs.
