Actress Sara Khalil shared how she prepared for her role in “Don’t Reply or Replace,” emphasizing that the character took shape as she read the script, with real-life observation serving as her main source of inspiration.
Actress Sara Khalil revealed details about her role in the series “Don’t Reply or Replace,” explaining that the director Maryam Abu Afouf personally offered her the part. She emphasized that the role came naturally without prior planning, and reading the script was key to shaping the character in her mind.
Sara told Sharif Abdel Badi on the program “Ana w Howa w Heya” on Sada Elbalad that she doesn’t follow a fixed acting method or routine, noting that the character begins to form naturally during script reading, in terms of appearance, speech, and behavior.
She added that observation is the most important tool for any actor, and that watching people and real-life examples serves as the primary inspiration for building characters.
Regarding her character “Hanan,” Sara explained that she deliberately distanced herself from her real-life persona, as the character’s harsh life circumstances demanded a different look and behavior, particularly as she is responsible for supporting her family.
