He insisted on studying all opinions and religious sects from various groups but found much inconsistency and contradiction in what he heard from scholars and clerics. This led him to develop his own thinking.
Sherif said: "I had to listen to every viewpoint, and I read from all sources, but in the end, I consulted my Lord in my heart and mind, as if asking Him, ‘If you were sitting in front of me, what would you tell me?’ This approach made me deepen my understanding of the Qur’an and my religion, which I hold dearly."

On his personal Facebook account, he strongly responded: "I speak about my religion comfortably, as long as my words do not declare anyone an unbeliever. No creature has the right to stop me from speaking about this religion. On the contrary, I strive and research to deepen my faith and increase my certainty. I will not be a blind follower of anyone."
