Actor Bassem Samra expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the passing of director Samah Abdel Aziz, who died this morning following a sudden health crisis, marking the end of one of the most prominent figures in Egyptian drama and cinema over the past two decades.

Samra wrote on his personal Facebook account:
"With deep sorrow, I mourn the passing of director Samah Abdel Aziz, whom we lost today. May God have mercy on his kind soul and grant patience and solace to his family and loved ones. Indeed, we belong to God and to Him we shall return."

Within artistic circles, Samah Abdel Aziz was known for his unique creative vision, bold storytelling, and ability to blend human depth with visual appeal. He gained a distinguished place among his generation, confidently navigating both drama and cinema, leaving a clear imprint on every project he took part in — whether as a director or a creative visionary.
His last cinematic work was the film "Al-Dashash", featuring a stellar cast including Mohamed Saad, Nesreen Tafesh, Zeina, Nesreen Amin, Bassem Samra, Khaled El Sawy, and Ahmed El-Rafei. The film was set for release in the coming period, but fate intervened before his artistic dreams could be realized.

Samah Abdel Aziz passed away at the age of 48 after a sudden health condition that required hospitalization over ten days ago. He remained in intensive care, battling complications reportedly caused by a severe blood infection that led to a complete coma. His condition significantly deteriorated in the past few days.
