The artist Sabri Abdel Moneim revealed during a television interview a difficult experience he went through after leaving the hospital following a major surgery to treat cancer. Abdel Moneim said he was surprised when a director asked him to come to the filming location just a few days after the operation, despite expecting the appointment to be postponed. He added, "The director insisted and kept me there from 10 in the morning until 10 at night, and I couldn’t get angry at him, may God forgive him."

Diagnosis and the Beginning of the Battle

The artist talked about the beginning of his cancer, saying that the disease was discovered in 2001 when he was diagnosed with lung cancer even though he was not a smoker. At that time, he underwent chemotherapy sessions and continued his artistic work with great strength despite suffering from the illness.

Health Condition Worsens

In 2004, his condition worsened while he was outside Egypt. He was hospitalized, and doctors discovered that he had cancer in the third area, specifically in the membrane surrounding the lung (the pleura).

Willpower and Work as Weapons to Confront the Disease

Despite all the health difficulties, Sabri Abdel Moneim affirmed that willpower and dedication to work were the means to confront the disease, expressing his firm attachment to life and art despite the harsh challenges he faced.

With this determination, the artist proved his ability to endure and continue his artistic contributions, becoming an inspiring example of strength, willpower, and perseverance.
