The case began in September 2024 when the mother of an 11-year-old boy filed an official complaint accusing Mohamed Ramadan’s son of physically assaulting her child at New Giza Club.

The mother, who works as a marketing and advertising executive, stated that her son suffered visible bruises to his face and body after a verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation.

She added that she rushed to the club upon hearing of the incident but found that Mohamed Ramadan’s son had already left with several companions, prompting her to pursue legal action.

Prosecution Investigations and Charges

The prosecution in First October district launched an investigation, heard testimonies from the mother and the victim, and requested a medical report to document the injuries.

Mohamed Ramadan’s lawyer claimed the incident was merely a minor dispute between two children, but the investigation revealed a serious assault, leading to the referral of the case to the juvenile court.

The actor’s son was officially charged with severely beating the child, Omar Mohamed Salem, and causing significant injuries.

Court Session and Custody Ruling

In the latest court session, the judge ordered the child’s placement in a social care facility as a precautionary measure. The ruling is subject to appeal.

Neither the child nor Mohamed Ramadan attended the session. The defense attorney stated that the child was ill and unable to appear.

Legal Clarification on the Ruling

Lawyer Omar Abdel Salam clarified that the placement is not a prison sentence but one of the protective measures outlined in child law, which includes placement in care facilities or supervised release to a guardian.

He added that in such cases, children are not imprisoned, and may only leave the facility for scheduled visits while remaining under ongoing supervision.

Appeal and Potential Settlement

Abdel Salam noted that if the ruling is appealed, the court could replace the placement order with supervised release to the family.

Additionally, reconciliation between the parties could result in the case being dropped and legal proceedings coming to a halt.
