Supreme Council for Media Investigates Maha El Saghir’s Complaint
Maha El Saghir files a complaint against websites publishing false news and violating her privacy.
TV presenter Maha Mohamed Abdel Moneim, known as "Maha El Saghir," has filed an official complaint with the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, chaired by Engineer Khaled Abdel Aziz. She accuses several websites, social media pages, and channels of spreading false news, defaming her reputation, and violating her and her family's privacy.
Daily Media Harassment and Various Defamation Tactics
In her complaint, Maha El Saghir stated that these platforms did not stop at a single report but continued to repeatedly publish false content in various formats and styles with the aim of defamation and harm. She added that some of these outlets deliberately altered headlines, images, and videos regularly to attract a wider audience, without verifying the accuracy of the information. This has caused significant emotional and familial distress to her and her family.
El Saghir called on the Supreme Council to take the strictest legal measures against those responsible for these websites and TV channels, and to enforce regulations that protect individual dignity and the sanctity of private life. In response, the Council affirmed that it would seriously examine the complaint, review the evidence presented, and take the necessary legal steps in accordance with media regulations—ensuring the protection of citizens’ rights and reputations without discrimination.
