Adel Hussein, the head coach of Zamalek’s women’s football team, announced the passing of his mother in the early hours of Sunday, April 20, 2025. He shared the news on his personal Facebook account, writing:
“Alhamdulillah, we only say what pleases Allah. To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return. My mother has passed away to the mercy of Allah. O Allah, forgive her, have mercy on her, grant her peace and pardon her, honor her abode, expand her entrance, and cleanse her with water, snow, and ice, and purify her from sins as a white garment is purified from filth.”
Many players, staff, and Zamalek fans extended their condolences to Adel Hussein, showing strong support during this difficult time. Known for his close relationship with both fans and the coaching staff, Adel expressed his gratitude to everyone who offered their sympathies.
The funeral service is expected to be held at Al-Maghfira Mosque in Agouza, next to the Balloon Theater, after Maghrib prayer on Sunday. Zamalek Club has officially expressed its full support for Adel Hussein and confirmed that the club will stand by him throughout the mourning period.
Adel Hussein has led Zamalek’s women’s team to several recent successes and has played a key role in developing the squad into a competitive force in both local and international tournaments.
