In a touching and emotional moment, journalist Mahmoud Saad revealed the behind-the-scenes story of a conflict that occurred between him and the late renowned writer Osama Anwar Okasha just days before Okasha’s passing. Saad emphasized that he chose to overlook the insult in order to preserve their long and deep friendship.

An Unsent Message and a Moment of Anger
In a video posted on his Instagram account, Mahmoud Saad explained that Osama Anwar Okasha had written a harsh newspaper article attacking him, stating: "He's useless."
Saad added:
"He had written me a message asking for something, and he was very ill. But he didn’t press send — the message was never delivered, and I had no idea he had asked for me."
He continued:
"I went to him later and said: 'For you, anything.' I stood by his side when he was admitted to the hospital. A week later, he passed away."

Rising Above the Anger… A Friendship That Endures
Visibly moved, Saad reflected on the incident, saying:
"The story carries meaning. My friend was angry — it doesn’t matter that he was a great writer and I’m just a presenter. What matters is that he was my friend and he had a huge role in my life. He’s the reason I became a presenter."
He added:
"When you rise above anger, you feel a sense of peace. The other person may not notice it right away — they might be overwhelmed — but in the end, what remains is a beautiful memory and a peaceful closure."
