Abu Heif Beach in Alexandria is set to transform into an open-air cultural and artistic space tonight, Monday, as the “Art Beach” program begins at 6 p.m. as part of the “Alexandria Summer 2026” activities.

The event aims to provide residents and visitors with a diverse mix of cultural, musical, and entertainment activities during the summer season, bringing live performances closer to audiences in an open seaside setting.

The event is held under the patronage of Dr. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Culture, and Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Alexandria. It is organized by the General Authority for Cultural Palaces in cooperation with the relevant authorities in the governorate, as part of the national arts project “Culture Is Life.”

🎶 Anfoushi Eastern Rhythms Ensemble to Lead the Musical Program

One of the main highlights of tonight’s program will be an artistic performance by the Anfoushi Eastern Rhythms Ensemble, led by maestro Ezzat Bassiouny.

The ensemble will present a diverse selection of songs and musical pieces based on traditional Eastern rhythms, along with solo performances featuring percussion instruments.

A group of talented musicians will take part in the performance, creating an artistic experience that combines Eastern music with the relaxed atmosphere of a summer evening by the sea.

The participation of the Anfoushi Eastern Rhythms Ensemble is expected to be one of the most prominent segments of the program, particularly because of the ensemble’s ability to deliver accessible musical performances suitable for audiences of different ages.

💃 Folk and Performing Arts Inspired by Alexandria’s Heritage

The “Art Beach” program will not be limited to music, as the event will also feature the Anfoushi Children and Youth Folk and Performing Arts Ensemble, led by artist Mostafa Abdo.

The group will present a series of performances inspired by Alexandrian folklore and Egyptian popular heritage, combining movement, music, and group performances to highlight elements of the city’s artistic and cultural identity.

The participation of children and young performers also provides an important opportunity to discover emerging talents and encourage them to continue practicing folk and performing arts.

At the same time, their performances introduce audiences to different forms of Egyptian heritage in an engaging and accessible way.

🌊 “Art Beach” Brings Culture Closer to the Public

The “Art Beach” initiative is particularly significant because it brings cultural activities to beaches and open public spaces, allowing art to reach a wider audience during the summer season.

Alexandria attracts large numbers of residents and visitors during the summer months, making its beaches an ideal setting for cultural and entertainment activities designed to reach people outside traditional theaters and cultural venues.

By staging performances in open spaces, the audience becomes part of the experience itself, as music and folk arts blend naturally with the seaside atmosphere and the lively movement that characterizes Alexandria during the summer.

The events also provide families and young people with an opportunity to enjoy a diverse cultural and entertainment program without having to visit traditional indoor venues.

🎭 Free Cultural Activities as Part of Alexandria Summer 2026

The “Art Beach” performances are part of a broader summer activities plan aimed at supporting cultural and artistic life across Egypt and making public cultural events accessible to citizens free of charge.

Tonight’s event is organized as part of the Central Administration for Artistic Affairs program through the Alexandria Cultural Branch, affiliated with the West and Central Delta Cultural Region, in cooperation with the Central Administration for Tourism and Resorts.

Through such events, the organizers seek to offer diverse artistic content combining music, singing, folk arts, and performing arts in a format suited to the summer season.

The program also gives audiences the opportunity to experience different forms of Egyptian culture and entertainment in a relaxed outdoor environment.

⭐ Alexandria Continues to Host Artistic Events on Its Beaches

The “Art Beach” activities reflect an ongoing effort to bring culture and the arts closer to audiences by organizing performances in places where people naturally gather, particularly coastal areas that become highly active during the summer months.

Such events also provide cultural ensembles with opportunities to perform before diverse audiences while helping preserve Egyptian folk traditions and encouraging younger generations to participate in artistic activities.

The combination of Eastern musical performances and folk and performing arts by children and young performers is expected to create a lively atmosphere at Abu Heif Beach.

The program also highlights the role of cultural institutions in supporting artistic talent and presenting Egyptian heritage in accessible and entertaining ways.

📢 When Will the “Art Beach” Performances Begin at Abu Heif?

The event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. today, Monday, September 7, 2026, at Abu Heif Beach in Alexandria, with free admission for the public.

The evening is part of the “Alexandria Summer 2026” program and combines entertainment, culture, and the arts in an open-air setting, giving beachgoers, residents, and visitors the chance to enjoy musical and performing arts inspired by authentic Egyptian traditions.

As Alexandria’s summer activities continue across its beaches, initiatives such as “Art Beach” remain an important way of making culture more accessible and transforming public spaces into vibrant venues for celebrating art and heritage.
