Turki Al Alshikh Unveils Global Epic “Sword of Allah – Khalid bin Al-Walid”
At the Joy Forum during Riyadh Season, Turki Al Alshikh announced a major international film titled “Sword of Allah – Khalid bin Al-Walid,” an English-language production featuring global stars set to release in 2027.
In a groundbreaking announcement at the Joy Forum during Riyadh Season, the Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al Alshikh, revealed details of the upcoming historical epic “Sword of Allah – Khalid bin Al-Walid.”
Al Alshikh stated: “One of the most significant films to come to life will be ‘Sword of Allah – Khalid bin Al-Walid.’ It will be a global production, filmed in Al-Qiddiya and Al-Hisn Studios, spoken entirely in English, featuring international stars, and set to premiere in 2027. It will mark a real leap in the film industry.”
This announcement reflects the major transformation in Saudi Arabia’s entertainment and film sectors, highlighting the nation’s commitment to producing large-scale works that celebrate Islamic and Arab history with global cinematic standards.
Al Alshikh also addressed criticism directed at Riyadh Season 2025, denying claims of “drawing soft power” from other Arab countries. He emphasized that the success of the season stems from divine guidance and strong leadership support, saying: “No British person ever told me I’m taking their soft power—now is the time to give our Saudi youth their chance.”
The season will also feature a concert by Egyptian singer Angham, the only Egyptian artist on the lineup, joining top stars from the Gulf and the Arab world in a celebration of regional music and culture.
