🎭 The Higher Organizing Committee of the Fujairah International Monodrama Festival has held its first official meeting, chaired by His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Al Dhanhani, marking the beginning of preparations for the upcoming edition in March 2027.
✨ The festival continues to strengthen its position as one of the world’s leading platforms dedicated to monodrama — the art of solo performance — by expanding its programs and competitions to reach a broader international audience.
📅 The upcoming edition is scheduled to take place from March 27 to April 2, 2027, offering a week-long cultural celebration of theatrical creativity and human expression.
🎬 The festival has announced two main competitions:
- Theatre Performance Competition 🎭
- Arabic Playwriting Competition ✍️
💡 These initiatives aim to support playwrights, directors, and actors by providing a wider creative platform that encourages innovation in contemporary theatre.
💰 The festival has also revealed significant cash prizes for winning performances:
- 1st place: AED 50,000 🥇
- 2nd place: AED 30,000 🥈
- 3rd place: AED 20,000 🥉
🎭 In addition, a special award of AED 50,000 will be granted to the Best Actor of the festival, making it one of the most prestigious monodrama competitions globally.
🌟 These awards highlight the festival’s commitment to promoting solo performance art, which relies heavily on powerful acting skills and emotional storytelling.
📚 Additional awards will also be given for the best Arabic theatrical scripts, encouraging young writers to develop creative and socially relevant works.
📆 Submissions will be accepted from July 1, 2026 until the end of September 2026, allowing participants ample time to prepare and submit their entries.
🌍 The festival serves as a major cultural hub that connects Arab and international theatre communities, fostering artistic exchange and collaboration.
🔥 Monodrama remains one of the most challenging forms of theatre, requiring a single performer to carry the entire narrative with emotional depth and physical expression.
📈 The continued success of the festival reflects Fujairah’s growing status as a key cultural destination in the region, supporting performing arts and emerging talent.
💬 On social media, the announcement is expected to generate strong engagement among theatre enthusiasts and cultural audiences worldwide.
✨ Ultimately, the Fujairah International Monodrama Festival stands as a global platform for artistic innovation and theatrical excellence.
