Sources within Al Ahly have revealed the truth behind recent reports regarding negotiations from Spanish club Valencia to sign young goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir during the upcoming summer transfer window. These reports suggested that the Spanish side is looking to strengthen its goalkeeping department following the departure of one of its keepers to Liverpool.

The source confirmed that Al Ahly has not received any official offers so far from Valencia or any other European club. They clarified that the only development has been an informal inquiry from a major global marketing agency seeking to mediate potential player deals, and the idea of Shobeir moving was raised in case a suitable offer from Valencia emerged.

The source added that this inquiry has not been followed by any formal steps from the Spanish side—no written offer, nor even preliminary negotiations with Al Ahly’s management. Moreover, the club has not shown any intention of letting go of the young goalkeeper, who is considered one of the team’s most promising talents and viewed internally as the future number one, especially as Mohamed El Shenawy nears the end of his career with the team.

The source emphasized that the technical staff, led by Marcel Koller, has complete confidence in Mostafa Shobeir’s abilities. He has proven himself in several key matches recently, impressing in both the CAF Champions League and the local league. “Mostafa Shobeir is part of Al Ahly’s future strategy and is treated as one of the core pillars for the coming years,” the source said.

Meanwhile, Al Ahly’s first team has returned to Cairo from South Africa after a tough away match against Mamelodi Sundowns in the first leg of the CAF Champions League semi-final. The match, held at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, ended in a goalless draw.

Despite the draw, Al Ahly delivered a strong defensive performance, with two goals disallowed for offside—scored by Geraldo and Achraf Bencharki—in moments that sparked significant officiating controversy. The team is now preparing for the decisive return leg in Cairo, which will determine their place in the tournament final.

Amid the current technical and administrative stability at the club, management is keen on maintaining the team’s core, especially young talents like Mostafa Shobeir. He enjoys strong support from both fans and club officials and is seen as a natural successor in Al Ahly’s rich history of legendary goalkeepers.

In conclusion, the sources affirmed that selling Mostafa Shobeir is not currently under consideration. The club’s top priority is his development and continued integration into the squad for greater participation in the near future.
