Ahmed Mokhtar, the lawyer representing the child victim in the assault case involving the son of actor Mohamed Ramadan and his classmate inside a well-known club, revealed important details about the case. He confirmed that the court issued a decision to place the child Ali Mohamed Ramadan in a care facility following the formal accusation against him.
Prosecutor’s Investigation and Referral to the Juvenile Court
Mokhtar explained in a television statement that the case began with investigations by the public prosecutor, who then referred the file to the juvenile court. He added that the last hearing was held on May 5, attended by the defense lawyer for the accused and the defense team for the victim.
Request to Include Mohamed Ramadan Among the Accused
The lawyer pointed out that the victim’s defense team officially requested the public prosecutor to include actor Mohamed Ramadan in the list of defendants. However, the prosecutor referred the request to the court for a decision.
Case Ongoing with Plans to Appeal
Mokhtar confirmed that the case is still ongoing, with intentions to appeal the ruling to protect the rights of the assaulted child. He expressed deep regret over the absence of any humanitarian or legal communication from Mohamed Ramadan’s family towards the victim’s family, which has complicated the situation and escalated it legally.
Rejection of Escalation and Emphasis on Defending the Child’s Rights
The lawyer explained that if there had been genuine communication and efforts to contain the situation from the start, the case might have taken a more humane and calmer path. He affirmed that the defense team is continuing to take all necessary legal steps to prove the child’s rights and ensure justice is served.
Mokhtar concluded: “This case is not a personal dispute, but a defense of the rights of a child who was assaulted, and we will continue until full justice is achieved.”
