Actress Tayseer Fahmy has revealed the reasons behind her absence from the entertainment scene in recent years, clarifying that her departure wasn’t the result of an official retirement decision. Instead, she attributed it to a decline in artistic works that align with her aspirations, along with a sense of artistic fulfillment after a rich and rewarding career.

In a press statement, Fahmy said she doesn't feel compelled to announce a formal retirement from acting, explaining:
"I'm not a football player to say I’ve officially retired. The truth is, I reached a point where I felt fulfilled and chose to step back voluntarily. I also haven’t been receiving offers for roles that suit me. But if I'm offered a project with a role that fits my age and appearance, I’d definitely consider it seriously."

Throughout her career, Tayseer Fahmy delivered a wide range of memorable performances that left a lasting mark on Egyptian drama and cinema. Her notable works include: Al-Shaytan Yuqaddim Hallan (The Devil Offers a Solution), Al-Layla Al-Maw’ooda (The Promised Night), Qasr Al-Shawq (Palace of Desire), Raafat El-Hagan, La Taqtulu Al-Hubb (Do Not Kill Love), Al-Nihaya (The End), Al-Tout wa Al-Naboot (Mulberries and the Staff), Salahif (Turtles), Abna’ Walakin (Sons, Yet), Thaman Al-Hubb (The Price of Love), Da’wa ila Al-Majhoul (Call to the Unknown), Al-Bahth ‘An Fursa (Looking for a Chance), Lazal Al-Waqt Ladayna (We Still Have Time), and Al-Hubb Fi ‘Asr Al-Ghafaf (Love in the Age of Drought).
Her last on-screen appearance was in the 2010 television series Bifa’l Fa’el (By an Unknown Hand), which featured co-stars such as Tamer Hagras, Tarek Lotfy, Mirna Waleed, Ragaa El-Gedawy, Yasser Galal, Gamal Ismail, and Othman Mohamed Ali. The series was directed by Taysir Aboud and written by Mostafa Ibrahim.

The plot centered on the character "Abeer," who discovers by chance her husband’s betrayal. He operates under the belief that “the end justifies the means” and becomes involved in espionage activities for a foreign entity. As his actions threaten national security, she bravely reports him to the authorities, who then begin monitoring him to uncover the extent of his involvement.
