Egyptian actor Yasser El Tobgy has revealed details of his health scare after undergoing a six-hour surgery to remove a tumor that was discovered unexpectedly.

How Was the Tumor Discovered?
Speaking on the "Shaqqat El Taawon" podcast, El Tobgy explained that the discovery came while he was receiving treatment for colon-related health issues. Although doctors initially assured him that his condition was stable, he continued to feel that something was wrong, especially after experiencing significant weight loss.
An Experienced Surgeon Insisted on Further Tests
El Tobgy said that a surgeon he trusted reviewed his medical scans and insisted on performing a colonoscopy and taking a biopsy despite his fear of the procedure. The decision ultimately led to the early detection of the tumor.
The Shock of the Diagnosis
The actor revealed that he personally learned the biopsy results after contacting the laboratory, describing the moment as "a huge shock." He added that his wife and brother initially chose not to tell him the diagnosis immediately to protect him emotionally.
Six-Hour Tumor Removal Surgery
El Tobgy explained that Dr. Ashraf Zaki, Head of Egypt's Actors Syndicate, helped connect him with a specialist surgeon. He underwent surgery on January 27, and the operation lasted approximately six hours.

The actor confirmed that he has successfully passed the most difficult stage of his illness and is currently focusing on recovery. He expressed his gratitude to fans, friends, and fellow actors for their overwhelming support throughout his treatment journey.
