South Korea is grappling with a wave of political controversy after prosecutors revealed striking new details linked to what they described as a “major conspiracy” involving former President Yoon Suk Yeol. According to investigators, drone flights from the South into central Pyongyang were not accidental incidents but part of an orchestrated plan to provoke North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and set the stage for imposing martial law.
🔥 These revelations surfaced after retrieving notes from the phone of a senior defense official, containing discussions that indicate top military figures were aware of attempts to trigger a response from the North strong enough to justify increased military control in the South.

Prosecutors stated that the evidence aligns with earlier allegations made by North Korea, which claimed that South Korean drones dropped anti-regime leaflets inside its territory last October. This prompted a rare and harsh statement from Kim Yo Jong, the influential sister of Kim Jong Un.

North Korea’s response was limited to non-military escalation, including cutting off roads and railway lines to the South and destroying two routes inside its territory. Weeks later, Yoon abruptly declared martial law, arguing that South Korea needed protection from “communist forces from the North targeting the liberal South.”

The decree was overturned within hours by lawmakers, marking the beginning of Yoon’s accountability process. The new charges now join several ongoing legal battles, including a trial accusing him of attempted rebellion.
