Rescue and search operations continue by the Civil Protection teams following the collapse of an old building known as the "Noor Al-Sharif Building" in the Sayeda Zeinab area, amid widespread sorrow among the local residents.

The forces managed to recover the body of a high school student who was inside the building at the time of the collapse, preparing for his exams. According to eyewitnesses, the student was visiting a friend and studying inside the apartment moments before the building suddenly collapsed.

Residents noted that the sound of the collapse was so violent that many thought it was an earthquake, emphasizing that the building was old and had previous cracks without any prompt intervention from the concerned authorities.
Additionally, the body of another person named Samir was recovered from under the rubble, raising the death toll to six so far, while search efforts continue due to the possibility of more missing persons.

The incident has raised many questions about the neglect in maintaining old buildings in the area, amid popular demands for urgent action to prevent similar disasters in the future.
