The Al-Azhar University Council, headed by His Eminence Dr. Salama Dawood, President of the University, honored a number of professors and doctors at Al-Azhar University in recognition of their academic and professional excellence, and their ongoing efforts in serving the community and citizens. This honor is part of the university's commitment to appreciating and recognizing individuals who contribute effectively in academic, medical, and service fields, highlighting the importance of honoring innovators as a motivation to exert further efforts in serving science and society.

Among the most notable honorees at this event were the team that won second place in the Emergency Medicine and Critical Care Departments League, organized by Suez University for Egyptian universities. This recognition reflects the scientific and practical excellence of the team members in this critical and important field, which requires utmost precision and high medical skills in handling emergency and critical cases.

The medical team that successfully carried out a complex surgery lasting approximately 12 hours, during which they were able to reattach a severed arm of a citizen, was also honored. This reflects the high level of professionalism and expertise possessed by the faculty members and medical teams at Al-Azhar University. The surgery involved several professors from the fields of plastic surgery, orthopedics, and anesthesia, serving as a vivid example of coordination between different specialties to achieve unprecedented medical results.

In the field of Islamic sciences, winners of the international Quran memorization competition were honored, which is one of the prominent events in which Al-Azhar University participates. Among them was Dr. Hassan Osman Abdel Nabi, an assistant lecturer in the Department of Tafseer at the Faculty of Usul al-Din in Mansoura, who won first place in this prestigious international competition. Dr. Aida Ahmed Makhless, an assistant professor in the Department of Tafseer at the Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies for Girls in Mansoura, also received first place in the Quranic Family competition, reflecting the scientific and spiritual excellence of Al-Azhar University staff in memorizing and interpreting the Quran.

Dr. Ibrahim Yusuf, an assistant professor in the Department of Educational Technology at the Faculty of Education for Boys in Tuhna al-Ashraf, was also honored for winning the King Abdullah II Creativity Award in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This recognition comes in appreciation of his outstanding contributions in the field of educational technology, a vital area that helps modernize the educational process at Al-Azhar University and enhances the quality of education.

Another aspect of the honors included the recognition of notable participants in the "Empowering Bright Female Leaders" program, organized by the Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies for Foreign Students, under the supervision of Dr. Nahla Al-Saidi, Consultant to the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar for Foreign Affairs. This program aims to train and empower women leaders in education and community leadership, marking an important step toward enhancing the role of women in the Arab and Islamic world. This initiative is a vital step toward empowering women and giving them the opportunity to lead change and contribute more significantly to society.

This recognition by Al-Azhar University reaffirms its deep commitment to honoring academic and societal excellence in all fields.
