A gang was arrested for stealing savings and pensions of senior citizens in Cairo using an ATM scam.

Incident Details and Arrest of Suspects in Stealing Seniors’ Savings and Pensions
The police in the El-Zaytoun area received a report from a citizen residing in the Matariya police district, who stated he was defrauded by two women who pretended to help him withdraw money from an ATM. However, they exploited the situation by taking his bank card and replacing it with another card. Using the PIN they obtained, they managed to steal money from his account.
Security forces began investigations and inquiries, which led to identifying and arresting the suspects—two women accompanied by two other men with prior criminal records. One of them was found in possession of a shotgun, highlighting the dangerous nature of this criminal gang.
The suspects confessed to forming a criminal network specialized in targeting elderly people and exploiting their trust in several cases. They committed five other thefts following the same method, taking advantage of their victims' vulnerability and fake assistance to withdraw money from their accounts.
The victims were summoned and identified the suspects, confirming their involvement in stealing their savings and pensions. This prompted the security authorities to take strict legal measures against them in preparation for referring them to justice.
