As part of its swift response to incidents of public concern, Egypt’s Ministry of Interior has uncovered the circumstances surrounding a viral video showing an injured man claiming he was assaulted and robbed by three individuals at a train station in Qalyubia Governorate. Security forces were able to identify and arrest the suspects in record time.

The incident came to light after social media users shared a video showing a visibly injured man calling for help, claiming he was attacked and robbed by unknown assailants wielding a bladed weapon. The video sparked outrage online, prompting the Interior Ministry to act quickly to investigate the situation and apprehend those responsible.
Official Complaint Details the Attack
Shibin Al-Qanater Police Station received a complaint from a local blacksmith residing in the area, stating that while he was at Nowe train station in Shibin Al-Qanater, he was confronted by three individuals—one of whom was armed with a white weapon. According to the victim, the assailants assaulted him and stole his wallet, which contained a sum of money, before fleeing the scene.
Intensive Investigations Lead to Arrest
Immediately after receiving the report, security forces launched an investigation and formed a task force that successfully identified the three suspects. One of them was found to have a prior criminal record. All suspects were apprehended within the same jurisdiction, in possession of the stolen money and the weapon used in the assault.

Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to committing the crime as described by the victim. Authorities recovered the stolen money and the bladed weapon, and all necessary legal measures were taken in preparation for their referral to the public prosecution.
