The Thanaweya Amma (general secondary) exams in Qalyubia Governorate witnessed two exceptional health incidents today, as two female students experienced sudden medical emergencies during the English language exam. Rapid medical intervention was required to ensure their safety, amid close monitoring by the local education and health authorities.

At the exam center of Shibin Al-Qanater Secondary Girls’ School, 18-year-old student Radwa Mohamed suffered from acute fatigue while taking the exam. Emergency medical teams stationed near the school quickly intervened and transferred her to Shibin Al-Qanater Central Hospital, where she received the necessary care and was reported to be in stable condition.

Meanwhile, at Khosous Secondary Girls’ School, another 18-year-old student, Yaqeen Hossam El-Sayed, fainted unexpectedly during the exam. She was promptly transported by a fully equipped ambulance to Nasser General Hospital and received the required medical attention.

The Operations Room of the Qalyubia Directorate of Education confirmed that it is continuously monitoring the health conditions of all students inside exam centers in full coordination with the Directorate of Health, to ensure a safe and supportive environment during the exams. Emergency response plans are in place for any medical situations that may arise.
Dr. Mostafa Abdo, Director of the Directorate of Education in Qalyubia, explained that Thanaweya Amma exams officially began on Saturday, June 15, 2025, and will continue until July 10. He added that preparations included equipping 104 general exam centers across the governorate’s educational administrations, serving over 50,213 students.

He also noted that 24 rest stations have been prepared for supervisors and invigilators—equally divided between men and women—to ensure they work in comfortable conditions throughout the exam period.

The Directorate is working in coordination with the Ministry of Education and the Security Directorate to secure the exam process, as well as with ambulance and health services to provide both mobile and fixed medical teams around exam centers, along with psychological and health support for students.
