A fraudulent travel company exploiting Hajj and Umrah to steal citizens' money has been apprehended.
The Ministry of Interior launched an intensive security campaign that resulted in the arrest of an unlicensed travel company accused of defrauding citizens’ money by luring them with fake Hajj and Umrah trips.
Investigations by the Public Security and Tourism and Antiquities Police revealed the company’s involvement in fraud through false promotion on social media, falsely claiming to be an officially licensed organization authorized to arrange religious and tourism programs. This led to significant financial losses for a number of citizens.
After completing legal procedures, the suspects were arrested and their scheme was thwarted. Authorities seized forged documents, payment receipts, and fake price lists in their possession, which proved their involvement in fraud and deception crimes.
This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by security agencies to combat all forms of tourism-related crime and protect citizens from falling victim to fake companies exploiting religious occasions to gain illegal financial profits.
