Abu Saddam noted that sacrificial livestock prices have fallen by around 15%, explaining that this decrease amounts to approximately EGP 2,500 for a sacrificial animal weighing about 400 kg, and up to EGP 5,000 for one weighing 800 kg. He emphasized that this decline presents a real opportunity for citizens looking to purchase livestock, especially in light of the current economic challenges.
He attributed the main reason for this drop to the abundance of livestock supply this year compared to previous seasons. The local market has seen a large availability of sacrificial animals, which directly helped curb the price surge. Government outlets have also played a crucial role by offering livestock at competitive prices lower than those in private markets, contributing to price stability and easing the burden on citizens.

In terms of pricing details, he explained that the price of a 500 kg cow has dropped to around EGP 87,000, down from EGP 90,000. The live weight price of beef has decreased to EGP 175 per kilogram, compared to EGP 180 previously. As for buffaloes, the price of a 500 kg buffalo has fallen to EGP 77,000, after previously being sold for EGP 80,000, and the live weight price of buffalo meat is now EGP 160, down from EGP 165.

He added that this decline represents an important breakthrough in the meat market and is joyful news for many citizens preparing for the Eid season. He expressed hope that this price balance will continue in the coming days.
