Judicial authorities have officially opened an investigation into a controversial case involving social media dancer known as “Nour Tofaha,” following multiple accusations of publishing indecent content and inciting debauchery and immorality through her digital platforms, which attract thousands of followers.

A lawyer filed a formal complaint against Nour Tofaha, stating that she repeatedly shares video clips and photos containing inappropriate innuendos that violate Egyptian family values and public morals.

According to the complaint, the content she posts does not qualify as artistic expression but rather relies on provocative dancing in revealing clothing and the use of vulgar music, aimed at stirring controversy and building fake fame at the expense of societal ethics.
The complainant also alleged that Nour Tofaha is part of a performance troupe and consistently produces this type of content, prompting many social media users to file online reports calling for a legal investigation due to the potential harm to public awareness and youth behavior.

Security authorities responded to the reports, tracked down the accused, and arrested her after obtaining legal clearance. She has been referred to the public prosecution for questioning regarding the nature and purpose of her published material. Several electronic devices used to record and distribute the content were also seized.

Sources close to the investigation revealed that initial inquiries focus on potential violations of Egypt’s Cybercrime Law and Family Values Protection Law, with the case expected to be referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal proceedings.

This case adds to a growing list of legal actions targeting social media figures who rely on controversy and sensationalism for fame—raising ongoing debates about the ethical boundaries of online content and the need for tighter regulations to safeguard public decency and uphold societal norms.
