The Shubra El-Kheima Criminal Court, First Circuit, issued today a life sentence against two unemployed men for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. In addition, each was fined 20,000 Egyptian pounds after being proven involved in showing off weapons, threatening an individual, and firing shots in the Qanater Khairiya area of Qalyubia Governorate.

The Public Prosecution referred the defendants, Emad El-Din A.E.E.N (45 years old) and Ibrahim M.E.S.N, to court on charges of possessing two firearms and ammunition, violations of the law that prohibit licensing such weapons. They used these firearms to intimidate and threaten the victim, Abdel Aaty Abdel Aziz Mohamed Mansour.
Incident Details
The Qanater Khairiya area witnessed a terrifying incident where the defendants displayed their weapons and threatened the victim, causing severe fear and disturbance to his safety and peace. This behavior is not only illegal but also represents a direct threat to public security and safety.

Investigations confirmed that the defendants did not just illegally possess the weapons but used them as tools for pressure and control, prompting the prosecution to take strict measures and detain them under the law.

The court was presided over by Justice Ayman Fouad Fahmy, with judges Ayman Hussein Hamdan, Hossam Hemam Al-Adly, Haitham Helmy Ali, and Mohamed Ali Hamouda participating in the ruling. Secretary Ihab Suleiman handled court documentation. The verdict was based on conclusive evidence presented by the prosecution proving the defendants’ involvement in the crimes.

This ruling comes as part of judicial efforts to maintain community security, deter anyone attempting to use violence or threats to bypass the law, and reinforce that possession and use of unlicensed weapons threatening citizens’ safety will not be tolerated.
