Meteorology warns: Severe maritime disruption and rising waves threaten beachgoers on the Mediterranean Sea
The Meteorological Authority warns of maritime disruption in the western Mediterranean and hot, humid weather tomorrow.
Dr. Manar Ghanem, a member of the Media Center at the General Authority for Meteorology, warned about the expected weather conditions over the Mediterranean Sea tomorrow, Thursday, July 31, 2025. She stressed that the country is experiencing weather changes that require extreme caution, especially from beachgoers and those in coastal areas.
In her statements, Ghanem explained that wind activity will cover most parts of the country during nighttime hours, which will help slightly moderate temperatures. However, it will also cause significant disruptions in maritime navigation, particularly in the western Mediterranean. She pointed out that the coasts of Matrouh, Alamein, and Alexandria will be directly affected by these disruptions, making fishing and maritime activities in these areas completely unsafe at this time. She also confirmed that these disruptions will continue in the Gulf of Suez, with expectations of difficult maritime navigation there as well.
Dr. Ghanem added that the chances of rainfall remain high in some areas, with light rain expected that could develop into moderate showers over the Halayeb area. There is also the possibility of scattered light rain and a slight chance of it falling on some coastal areas overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. She noted that this continued rainfall is due to the country being affected by the extension of a low-pressure system in the upper atmosphere, which has led to the formation of intermittent low and medium clouds. She explained that these weather conditions are causing rainfall levels to be higher than usual for this time of year, in addition to a continued significant rise in humidity levels.
She clarified that the weather during the daytime will range from hot to hot and humid across the northern governorates, while the southern governorates will experience extremely hot weather with high humidity. At night, the weather will turn warm and humid, with continued discomfort due to the high humidity levels increasing the feeling of heat.
Dr. Ghanem concluded her statements with a series of warnings for beachgoers and those in coastal areas. She stressed the need to avoid direct exposure to intense sunlight during noon hours to prevent heatstroke and heat exhaustion. She also emphasized the importance of wearing loose, light-colored cotton clothing that reduces the feeling of heat, using head coverings while outdoors, and drinking sufficient amounts of water and fluids to compensate for the loss from sweating.
Ghanem confirmed that adhering to these guidelines would reduce the risks associated with the current weather fluctuations. She added that the General Authority for Meteorology is closely monitoring the situation and will announce any new updates as soon as they become available to ensure the safety of citizens and stability in the areas affected by the unstable weather conditions

Criminal Investigations Between Prosecution Authority and the Guarantees of Presumption of Innocence
Counselor Nevin Wahsh emphasizes that criminal investigations, despite their importance in the initial detection of crimes, cannot be considered fully-fledged evidence in criminal proceedings.
