Official Eid al-Adha 2025 Holiday Duration in Egypt: From Arafat Day Until Monday


As Eid al-Adha 2025 approaches, many Egyptians are eager to know the number of official public holidays granted by the government for this important Islamic occasion.


According to astronomical calculations, the Eid al-Adha holiday in Egypt is expected to begin on Thursday, June 5, which coincides with Arafat Day, and continue until Monday, June 9, 2025, making it a five-day holiday.


Astronomical Date of Eid al-Adha


Astronomical estimates indicate that Eid al-Adha will fall on Friday, June 6, 2025, corresponding to the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah 1446 AH. The official date will be confirmed after the moon sighting, scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, 2025.


A Time for Rest and Family Gatherings


The Eid holiday provides an ideal opportunity for Egyptians to spend time with family, visit relatives, perform Eid prayers, and carry out the ritual sacrifice. Many also take advantage of the break to travel domestically, especially with the holiday coinciding with the start of summer.
