Scandal at a Famous Café in Dokki: Worker Caught Installing Hidden Phone to Film Women in the Restroom
A worker at a popular café in Dokki was arrested after a phone was found in the women’s restroom used to secretly record them without their knowledge.
Security forces in Giza Governorate arrested a worker from the buffet section of a well-known café in the Dokki area, after he was accused of committing an obscene act by placing a mobile phone inside the women’s restroom with the intent of secretly filming them without their knowledge—a shocking incident that has sparked outrage among café patrons and social media users alike.
The incident began when a young woman, a regular visitor to the café, filed an official report after noticing a mobile phone in recording mode hidden in the restroom in a manner suggesting it had been deliberately placed to film those using the facility. According to her statement, she inspected the phone and was shocked to find several video clips showing women and girls in private situations inside the same restroom. She immediately alerted café management and contacted the authorities.
Upon receiving the report, a security team from Dokki Police Station swiftly moved to the scene, where they arrested the suspect and seized the phone used in the incident. Confronted with the evidence, the accused confessed to the act, admitting he had secretly filmed women out of curiosity.
An official police report was filed, and the suspect was referred to the Public Prosecution, which began formal investigations and initiated the necessary legal procedures. The phone was confiscated for further examination by the relevant authorities.
The incident comes amid growing concerns about repeated violations of privacy, prompting calls for tighter surveillance in public places and encouraging victims to report any suspicious behavior immediately.
