The global smartphone market saw a 2.6% year-over-year increase in shipments during the third quarter of 2025, reaching 322.7 million units. Analysts attribute the growth to innovative form factors and the rise of affordable AI-powered smartphones.
Samsung led the market with an 18.4% share, shipping 57.7 million units. Apple followed closely in second place with 57 million units, marking its strongest-ever Q3 performance, largely fueled by strong demand for the iPhone 17 series.
Xiaomi ranked third globally with a 13.5% market share, shipping 42.8 million units.
Transsion recorded the highest year-on-year growth among major vendors at 13.6%, driven by its rapid expansion in the sub-$200 device segment.
Looking ahead to Q4 2025, analysts remain optimistic, citing festive season discounts and increased demand for new AI-powered smartphones as key growth drivers
