A medical team, including an anesthesiologist and paramedics, arrived at the exam locations promptly and recorded symptoms in the affected individuals such as renal and intestinal colic as well as severe circulatory collapse, all exacerbated by intense heat and exam-related psychological stress.
The students and invigilator were transferred to Minya General Hospital under the supervision of nephrology, internal medicine, and cardiology specialists. They received appropriate treatment, including intravenous fluids, antispasmodic medications, and blood pressure stabilizers. Mental health professionals also provided quick psychological support sessions to help stabilize their morale before allowing them to resume the rest of the exam schedule.
The medical teams prepared detailed reports on each case, which were submitted to the security authorities to proceed with legal procedures. An official report was filed, and the Public Prosecutor’s Office was notified to investigate the circumstances of the incident and determine whether the exam centers complied with occupational safety and health regulations. Meanwhile, the Directorate of Education announced that technical committees had been dispatched to visit the exam centers to verify the availability of first aid supplies and cold drinking water, as well as to distribute generators and additional fans to reduce heat and ensure the safety of both students and staff.
