The Ministry of Civil Aviation expressed its deepest condolences and sorrow over the incident of an advertising board falling inside the International Departure Hall No. 2 at Sharm El-Sheikh International Airport this morning. The accident resulted in the death of a Kazakhstani female passenger and injuries to two others while they were waiting to board a “Scat” Airlines flight headed to the capital, Astana.

Injuries and Urgent Medical Care
The two injured women were immediately transported to Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital to receive the necessary medical treatment. Their conditions stabilized after receiving first aid; however, despite intensive medical efforts, one of them passed away.
Prosecutor’s Investigation and Aviation Procedures
The public prosecutor began investigations to determine the circumstances of the accident and assign responsibility. The flight was allowed to depart after all security and technical measures were taken. The injured woman and her daughter were exempted from traveling and were provided accommodation in a hotel until their medical care was completed.

Official Support and Immediate Diplomatic Coordination
As part of the state's commitment to full support, the Minister of Civil Aviation contacted the Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan and the Kazakh Consul, expressing his deepest condolences. He also confirmed the opening of a transparent official investigation by the prosecutor and the taking of all necessary measures to support the passengers and the victims’ families.

Field Follow-up and Strict Directives
The minister directed the heads of the Holding Company for Airports and the Egyptian Airports Company to head immediately to Sharm El-Sheikh Airport to monitor the situation on the ground, check on the passengers, and ensure all support and comfort are provided. Special accommodation was also arranged for the deceased woman’s son until coordination with the Kazakh embassy is finalized.
