Five people sustained varying injuries today, Wednesday, following the sudden collapse of a wall in the Khuzam area of Qus center, south of Qena Governorate, causing panic and concern among local residents.

The Qena Security Directorate received an urgent report from the Qena Ambulance Service, headed by Dr. Mohamed Fouad, stating that a wall next to the old market in the area had collapsed, resulting in large parts of the wall falling onto passersby and some nearby shops.

The injured were immediately transported to the hospital to receive necessary medical care, and first aid was provided to them, with medical teams closely monitoring their health conditions.

An official report was filed regarding the incident, and security authorities assigned the investigations unit to examine the circumstances of the collapse, which may be linked to the old age of the buildings or neglect of maintenance.

The incident has sparked public outrage among residents, who have called for regular inspections of old and hazardous buildings and urgent preventive measures to ensure the safety of residents and passersby.
